Guide to couponing/getting things for free

Little known fact: You can stack a manufacturer coupon and a store coupon on every item in every drugstore/mass retailer.  Just because a coupon is $1 off something, doesn't mean it won't save you anything.  Little things add up and when you have 1 manufacturer coupon and a store coupon, you can get things 50% most of the time.  To make even better use of your coupons, here are some methods:

  • Wait till the drugstore has a 40%-50% off!  This usually occurs every week with cosmetics.  If not a 40% off, they will ALWAYS be a BOGO 50% off.
  • You can also wait till the store has a promotion for if you buy $10 worth of something, you get $3 back in extra bucks/rewards.  The total value required is added up BEFORE coupons.  So, if you have a $3 off something, buy $10 of it, and you will only need to pay $4 in the end.
  • If the store is having a BOGO free, you can stack a BOGO free coupon with it so you get BOTH items for free.
  • Stores like Riteaid offer rebate for certain items every week.  The list can be found here.
  • Riteaid also has this program called Rite Aid Video Values where you view videos and after you watch them, you can print out coupons.  These coupons tend to be manufacturer ones.  If you watch the Rite Aid videos found under All Offers, you get $1 off any non-prescription item.  It is a sweet deal.
  • Coupons.com has a wide range of coupons every month, you can usually print each coupon 2x.  The coupons will expire a month after print date.  Even if the savings value doesn't seem like much, just wait till the stores have a 40% off.  Then, you will be saving a good amount.
  • Print your coupons off of swagbucks if you can.  For every coupon that you use, you will receive 10 swagbucks in exchange.  This will add up quick!  If you don't know what swagbucks is, it is a rewards site where you get points for everything you do and if you get enough points, you can redeem them for giftcards.
  • I refuse to buy any drugstore makeup without any coupons.  I don't buy anything full price unless I absolutely need it.  If something is on sale and I already have it, I will buy a backup just case when I run out, I won't have to pay full price for it.
